About

I was born and raised in Jamshedpur among a pack of eight. I did my college in Ranchi and have a PhD in Physics from Madras University. I made a career in the pharmaceutical industry. My career is dedicated to applying computational solutions to biological problems. My recent such efforts relate to applying information from the human genome sequencing efforts to improve human health via personalized medicine.

I am currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have two boys (Shanker and Bhu), a very loving husband (Sucha), a charming daughter-in-law (Dina), four grand children (Meera, Ashok, Alex and Maya) and a very cute pet (Shadow). Currently, my dad (92) and Shanker live with us. My Mom lives in a nursing home very near-by.

I like skiing, knitting, origami, cooking, carpentry, hiking and traveling. I love listening to old Tamil movie songs with my husband.

By now you must be curious why my blog is published in the name of thanemozhi instead of my good name Subhashini. Subhashini means sweet-talker in Sanskrit. Thanemozhi is the optimal tamil translation for Subhashini.

Very nicely articulated, Subha. A well rounded description of Subha the person and her journey till now ! Gives a picture of completeness and fulfillment.
We never knew you had such an interest in Tamizh. Looking forward to read more of your thoughts in the days ahead.

    Dear all,

Although my mom taught me many things in life, I take full responsibility for all the typos and grammatical errors in this tribute.
